After the launch of our new website, we were thrilled to receive a record-breaking number of applications for our autumn submissions. A total of 31 applications poured in from 15 different countries, showing how the Trust has reached researchers and beekeepers on a global scale.
While research grants comprised the highest percentage of applications, we were also excited to see an array of book proposals, conference ideas, and citizen science projects among the submissions. Each application represented a unique vision and a commitment to advancing knowledge about bees.
Our Board of Trustees carefully reviewed and assessed every single application with thorough deliberation. We are now delighted to announce the successful recipients who have been offered funding:
-
Dr M C Castellanos, University of Sussex:
The importance of trees for bees: an update of Database of Pollinator Interactions (DoPI) -
Dr M S R Flores, University of Vigo, Spain:

These selected projects stood out for their innovation, impact, and alignment with our mission. We look forward to working with all of the successful applicants during the year ahead.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who submitted an application. The sheer quality and breadth of ideas we received were inspiring. However, we cannot support everyone, as our funding is limited.
Now we are preparing for the next round of smaller / start-up grant submissions – Deadline 1st Dec. Remember, you can explore completed projects and related academic papers on our Portfolio pages.
