Our Mission
Founded by Dr. Eva Crane, the Trust is committed to advancing global research and understanding in bee science and beekeeping. We aim to foster innovative projects and collaborations that explore and expand knowledge in apiology, beekeeping practices, and the historical significance of bees. Central to our mission is the promotion of knowledge-sharing for the benefit of science and the public.
Objectives of the Trust:
- Advancement of Apiology: Support the science of bee research.
- Public Benefit: Promote, finance, and organize bee research projects that serve public interests.

How it Works
Application Process
Our Trustees periodically review and revise the application process to ensure the Trust continues to support impactful apicultural research, events, and publications.
Application Types
Applicants must choose one of the following forms:
- Form A: Science
- Form B: Citizen Science
- Form C: Events
- Form D: Books
Note: Applications must be submitted through our online system.
Key Application Deadlines
- 1st December 2024
- 1st March 2025
- 1st June 2025
- 1st September 2025
Financial Limits
- September & March:
- No strict financial limit, but grants over £30,000 are less likely to be funded. - December & June:
- Maximum funding limit: £5,000.
- Focus on smaller, innovative projects or start-ups.
Submission Requirements
- Applications must be completed by midnight (GMT) on the specified deadline dates.
- Late submissions will not be considered.
Review Process
- Assessment: Applications are critically reviewed by the Trustees.
- Decision Notification: Applicants will receive decisions within 8 weeks of the deadline.
