Pottery Hive for Stingless Bees

From Huejtla (Hidalgo), Mexico. These hives are made by Indians in the villages around the town. This was in use in 1973, & probably over 100 yrs old. Trigona (scaptotrigona) bipunctat Wh. Is reared in the pottery.
