Notes
-
From 1989 site notes: Altitude 613ft; 3 large arched alcoves (50x64x60inches) built into rocky knoll (marked 'cave' on map); each contains 3 recesses at back, plus 2 in outer alcoves and single through openings in walls in centre; if these recesses were for bees they may have been winter storage, perhaps with boards on recesses. (J Heginbottom)
2013 site visit: ground level has risen and recess bases are hidden under leaf litter; fronts are collapsing; woodland does not now belong to Mill House Farm. (D Loney)
