Notes
-
Each flight entrance has alighting board; inside each one: 2 stone pillars (for hive or shelf). There are also bee boles in garden wall (0173)
Further information was received in October 2019 from the new owner, Colin Walker:
"I thought you might like some additional images of the bee house interior which houses 8 pillars, each corresponding to a bee bole with a tiny hole where the bee would enter and upon which the hive would be placed. It’s a very unusual structure and I believe quite unique. On the outside each hole corresponds to a resting sill for the bee.
I can only assume the other listing 0173 relates to the 3 beeboles in the south facing wall of the walled garden of which the round bee house is at the center."
